Won’t it unlock if you unlocked the driver door from inside after the door was open? That should do same thing as key unlocking from outside the door does, right??

To quote ev6 user manual: "NOTICE Do not connect the jumper cable from the negative terminal of the booster bat-tery to the negative terminal of the dis-charged battery. This can cause the discharged battery to overheat and crack, releasing battery acid. Make sure to connect one end of the jumper cable to the negative terminal of the booster battery, and the other end to a metallic point, far away from the battery." The picture in manual is not clear enough to show where the grounding point is. In my experience what worked was to attach the black clamp to a steel screw in the upper right corner

You saved my day! Thanks. Was going to use my blood pressure cuff but could not find it. Was able to pry door far enough with flathead and stuck the rubber end of my pliers to hold it open. Use a thin belt from one of my dressers to loop over the lock!

a fully charged battery is 12.6v. most modern vehicles in temperatures over 40F will crank down to the mid 11 volts. When a battery shows it has sufficient Voltage... but it falls on it's face when applying a large load like cranking the engine (not to be confused with a low amperage draw like headlights or dash lights etc) That's a Direct result of a Sulfated battery & it will need to be replaced. Sulfation is nothing but a fancy electrical term for corrosion. Corrosion creates resistance... So for example... easy numbers... say something takes 200 amps normally... it the battery is internally sulfated (or has sulfated battery terminals) that battery might think it's trying to do something that's 250 0r 300 amps.. not tha actual 200... It's also a two way street.. if the sulfated battery or terminals make the amperage struggle to get out... it also makes it harder for the charging system to recharge it. Voltage & Amperage are different. so you can have what appears to be a fully charged battery... but it can't produce enough Amperage for the job.... internal sulfation is the reason all batteries need to be replaced every few years. FYI... only a discharged battery sulfates... a battery kept fully charged almost never sulfates. this is why we use trickle chargers or maintainer chargers on vehicles or toys that won't be used for months... the Battery tender compensates for parasitic drain as well as natural discharge. ( batteries will self discharge ove time even with no load) Hope this helps.

We get a few in the road. It's amazing what people do. I turn the turnpike and 95 calls down. Lishi also would be a waste of time. Like you are going to concentrate when cars are zipping by. Even on the drivers side some idiot could hit you from behind. As locksmiths we don't even use them. A lot do to make keys not to actually open the doors. We have code services if we need a key code.

In my experience Toyota's are the hardest cars to break into because the handle is dead inside and the unlock button is deactivated. My dispatch told me if you pull both handles at the same time it will open but I've never gotten that to work. You are saying the inside handle will unlock the door, does that work on the passenger side or something? Or is that only for the FJ?
